@Robb (PC no longer broken?) since you're around, do you know the fix for the lockfile issue?

the issue isn't the lockfile; the error message starts broad then drills down to the actual cause. the cause is network connection problems. the only fixes I have heard in the past are setting up a proxy or trying from a vpn or another internet connection (ex. hotspot)
