Civilization VI - unable to press "continue"

Hello there!
I was trying to play Civ VI on my mac through heroic, but unfortunately have run into an issue after the intro, in which the continue button cannot be pressed. It also doesn't highlight at all; as if it just isn't detecting the cursor over it.
Apparently this problem has occured for others (not through heroic), and has something to do with the resolution of the game differeing from the mac's... so I tried changing the App options text file in the install location to the native res of my macbook. When that didn't work, I changed my macbook's aspect ratio to 16:9 and then edited the file to the same + set it to launch in windowed mode.
This also didn't fix anything, and I was hoping someone else could shine some light on how I might fix the problem! Something I need to change with wine's settings, maybe? I'm not entirely sure how exactly wine works; still reading about it.

IMPORTANT: Logs are disabled.Enable verbose logs in Game's settings > Advanced tab > 'Enable verbose logs' before reporting an issue. Says at the end of the log

But tbh if you didnt past the refund window, i would just refund and buy that game from Steam.
As it has MacOS version there.

There are three, two identically crossover 25.0.1, the other wine crossover, does it matter which
I just tried the wine crossover one

to be honest I tried getting chatGPT to help me give ideas to fix the issue when it first happened (bad idea)
and after about an hour I was absolutely ready to defenestrate myself
I also kind of wish if you own the epic version, you could just claim the app store version for free...
On that note, dya reckon I should try "Run a non steam game"

Wdym by that? Adding egs copy of a game to steam doesnt grant you Mac version there

from what i remember
if i remember correctly at elast
all the ui elements are displayed to the right of where they actually are
if you click around the left of the continue button you should be able to hit it
you just might have to finick around a bit
once youre past that pray to god you can navigate to the settings properly and set the game to windowed

But, I can already set windowed before entering game, from appOptions.txt; have done so to no avail

Update:
I ended up installing VM fusion pro to run the game
I was expecting it to be laggy but it actually runs really smoothly
I just shared the exe file from heroic to the VM and then ran it, and for whatever reason it works like a dream even though my Mac specs aren’t great

Yeah… honestly perplexed as to why it’s working though. I’ve run this game on my late lg gram 17 16gb ram and it performed worse than this
Oh question, does heroic just install the windows version of the game and do the “wine stuff” separately?
I was too lazy to actually install the game on the VM so I just moved the game folder made by heroic onto it and ram the exe file from there 😭
