The potential at centre is due to Q (which is at a distance r), and is kQ/r Now if the sphere is earthed, potential of sphere is zero Hence potential at centre of sphere is zero (it is implied and Im assuming it's understood) So some charge flows from the ground to the sphere to make potential at centre=0, which is Qi and potential due to spherical charge distribution Qi at the centre is KQi/R Sum: kQ/r + kQi/R=0
