It was too hard to moderate. Things like raids and drama kept happening along with a CP (cheese pizza) incident from 2015.
Basically it was the Twitter of ROBLOX.

As someone who had tens of thousands of posts on the original forum, I could tell you it was a cesspit of negativity as early as 2012 and it kept getting worse and worse. Too many users, not enough moderators. It was like a certain notorious imageboard, but made worse by the fact that the target audience was children.
Near the end of its life there were groups who coordinated offsite - on Discord - harassment, manipulation and doxing campaigns against vulnerable forum users. Do you remember a spinoff forum that looked like the original forums? The owner shut it down because this group was blackmailing him with a dox.

I was on 'em since 2013, and although I restricted myself to OT and RT and had a lot of great times, there was some really rancid crap that was festering around for a long time. I remember horrible things happening in "OT parties" off-Roblox on sites like rabbit and dj(if I'm remembering the names right), which were super popular because Roblox had no control over moderating them.
I'm talking "horrible things" like a group of people getting a girl to commit self harming acts for NSFW pics, literal CP sharing, cult mentalities over random users who had high post counts or notoriety that would attack people on and off the site, posting literal gore for trolling and more... the subforum would explode in discussion from the events happening before it all got wiped away by the mods in the next few hours.
In retrospect the closure was probably for the best, it was all literal madness... but I do miss seeing a lot of the people on there from the earlier days who were real cool that left and I lost contact with.
