Immich not scanning ".trashed-timestamp-original_filename.ext" files

On Android, deleted (trashed) files are renamed, with
.trashed-timestamp-
.trashed-timestamp-
prepended to the original file name, where timestamp is unix timestamp of delete time + 30 days (sample .trashed-1747323071-IMG20250410105227.jpg). I use syncthing to sync phone FS to server, and these .trashed files are not picked up by immich (as far as I can tell). Is there a config change I can do to ensure the trashed files are picked up? (I understand dot files are hidden files in linux fs and might be the reason these are skipped. If so, what can be done?)
