Flash Player improved my connection on Roblox? - Roblox Forum
So something very wierd happened recently.
For about four months now, I've been having issues with Roblox. Games I'd usually play just fine suddenly didnt. I'd end up with very high ping and packet loss, making most games unplayable. Was quite confused, especially since my PC ran larger games such as GTAV and RDR2 with no issues. (I7-7700, 16GB RAM, GTX 1060)
I searched for solutions to what it could be. I tried everything I could find and it was barely doing anything.. even went as far as changing my internet provider, but still no improvements.
Anyways one night I was quite bored and didnt feel like playing most of my games, decided to play some I had in a folder, but they didnt work as they required flash player. I looked on Adobe's website and it turns out they've got a variant available to download under an additional downloads section (I'd link it but im fairly sure its against the sites rules.). You find a .swf file of the flash game you want to play and you can launch it on the player.
Anyways I got on the next afternoon and decided to try out Roblox again, see if I could sort out the issue and to my surprise, the games ran perfectly. I was getting average 26-61 ping, no packet loss, 60fps. I was skeptical at first as I was just on the games home screen. I got in and it continued to run smoothly, no lag or issues.
I then tried some other games, again no issues. I then tried one that was literally unplayable because I'd end up being kicked for an unstable connection; Again ran very smoothly, had one minor lag spike when loading its large map but otherwise no issues. Few days have passed now and I've had no issues still.
Im beyond confused as to how a flash player that has nothing to do with Roblox could 'fix' this problem. Has anyone on here experienced something like this? Perhaps someone with the time and knowledge could do some research into this?
