I planted it and tended it twice today (placement -> tend -> wait 9 hours -> tend)
In between me tending and waiting for my friend to tend it said “[friend username] has 24 hours left to tend]” or smth like that

Every day you need to tend to them once. So it's 24 hours. And no I don't mean that if you tend to it it gives a 24 hour timer, but it shows a timer till next day and then you can tend to it again.

If I'm honest I barely understand what you meant with that, but every day you must tend to it (1 day = 24 hours), you saw 9 hours since it probaly was around 14:54 for you when you made the screenshot.
