My brother got an internship in Belgium at OpenHub. He was doing a Summer Abroad Program in Belgium at a medical devices facility. And, he applied for a summer long internship in Belgium at OpenHub. And, the internship doesn't end till August 3rd. The summer Abroad Program ends on June 14th. And, I wanted my brother to come home for my birthday which is in 22 days. But, I don't know how to feel? I feel happy for him. But, I feel sad that he can't make it for my birthday.

Listen mate, sometimes life can't be how you like it. I bet you're real close to your brother so it's a shame he's not around. But why by unhappy? What do you get out of unhappiness compared to joy? Your brother may not make it back for your B day, but hey, he got something that he really worked for and strived to achieve and he's probably really happy about it. Wouldn't he being happy make you happy? or if you were happy, wouldn't he be happy for you? As hard as it is, you have to accept when you're not happy, but that doesn't mean you have to completely let it go. You just have to change how you view all this. My uncle once told me that you can't control when you're unhappy, but you can always choose how long you remain unhappy. So don't be unhappy till the end of time, your brother achieved something good, and maybe that's a sign that you could achieve something good as well. Perhaps if you really care of your birthday so much, your brother may return with a very good gift. And even if still you aren't happy, just know the day he return it'll all change.
This advice may not be best, but it's the thought that counts, just like how your unhappiness isn't the focus, but rather how you handle it. Good day lad, and tell your brother I said congrats.
