High Ping in California
I use to get 20-30 ping consitently, and now ever since around april I play valorant and i get CONSTANT ping spikes from 23 ping to sometimes 200 and it makes the game so difficult to play because i barely get kills (cuz of lag) im on google fiber and my internet is 500mpbs and on a laptop

also ive always had good ping on games and im on wifi, and on valorant i constnaly get the high ping alert
can you open cmd and do
ipconfig and show a screenshot of the info thats default gateway

In cmd type:
ping 192.168.1.1 -n 100
and show a ss of the summary at the end

i never used to be on 90 for games, usually in val i was typically hanging around 23-30 before this issue
get eth that should fix your spikes

Which can be solved by switching to Ethernet
i mean op is on a laptop maybe sitting next to the router
but eth is the best option
ok i bought a cat6 ethernet cable
for my router
so ill test it out
i already do that
i have an extender
and it sits near my laptop

you need to be connected directly to the router with eth and not via an extender

internet speeds and latency don’t correlate

has always had a yellow solid light
i thought that was normal
