"Backup status" doesn't reflect reality?
If I go to the "backup status" display, I see hundreds of photos go by, but they're not being uploaded. Doesn't change photo count, "X/Y memories preserved" doesn't change, no new photos visible on webapp. The count will stay the same for hours.

From what client? Desktop? Mobile?
This is from Android
F-droid version
It's not a permission issue?
Ente has the appropriate settings enabled to allow it to read the files?
Hm. How would I tell? I have about 200/2000 uploaded so far. Keep killing the app, checking and unchecking the album. For this current sync I've been stuck on 36/1857 for like an hour
I mean the photos are going by in "backup status"! I can click and expand them. So ente is reading them fine
2000 photos is a lot, are they currently only on your phone?
yeah
Depending on your phone's capabilities it might just require a lot of patience
I know that a lot of files is always a problem for any service
I guess I was curious what the "backup status" page is showing. I see my photos there, it looks like it's doing something with them. I can't even scroll to the bottom there are so many, going by fast
So what's happening?

On Android, make sure that "Optimize battery usage" is not turned on in system settings for the Ente app.
From the website, also they recommend NOT killing the app
Like this, going by really fast. The app is totally running, like in foreground!
I am not an employee but I assume status is just that, the status of the remaining files that need to be uploaded
They just don't upload
