Newbie - Cant get worker to run on route (WP Engine)

IF you are trying to deploy a worker on a WP ENGINE hosted site - here is my finding (as of 6/23/25): In this setup, the instance of cloudflare managing your domain and dns is the "CDN/Proxy Layer" and the WP Engine instance of cloudflare (their so called "advanced network security") is the "Origin Server". By default (using the standard DNS config provided by WP Engine), no routes setup in the Proxy Layer will run. If you try to troubleshoot with either cloudflare support (good luck), or with WP Engine, neither will be able to tell you why. What you need to do is enable an "orange-2-orange" connection between the two, but the documentation here is out of date: https://developers.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-for-platforms/cloudflare-for-saas/saas-customers/provider-guides/wpengine/ If you ask wpengine support or cloudflare support on guidance for this, both will tell you they cant help you, and to talk to the other. However, if you DO setup your DNS to use the CNAME provided, your site will go down. If you go to wp engine support with a down site, and tell them that you are setting up an orange-2-orange connection, they will give a proxy cname that is unique to your host environment. You have to get this record from WP Engine - and you will have to tell multiple support people they are wrong before you talk to the right person who can provide it.
