Undetected SMTP related SEV in Production
Last week, our SMTP email was deleted in Azure, which caused an undetected SEV in Production where users upon registering with our application would not receive verification email containing OTP. We want to know why we did not receive an alert from Kinde that our SMTP connection was severed.

At the moment, Kinde doesn’t provide automatic alerts if your custom SMTP connection is disrupted. While you can manually test the connection via Settings > Email using the Send test email option, ongoing monitoring isn’t currently supported.
You're not the only one who’s raised this, and we completely understand how important it is. We’ve shared this feedback with the team and will make sure to notify you if SMTP monitoring or alerting becomes available.
In the meantime, we recommend setting up alerts in your email provider (e.g. Azure) to notify you of any changes or deletions to your SMTP configuration.
Just to clarify: if your SMTP fails, Kinde does not fall back to sending from
no-reply@kinde.com
, so verification emails won’t be delivered until the issue is resolved.
