"Backing up player file" error

my friends and i have been trying to play calamity together but around an hour after joining the world my other friend and i get kicked with the message "backing up player file" appearing. we then can't join back until my friend restarts his steam and reopens tmodloader. i tried hosting the world as some troubleshooting but my friend (who was the one hosting before) would get the same error and be kicked after an hour again. he could join back a lot easier since i didnt have to restart the world but he would end up getting kicked in about 5min with the same error so it seems to be something wrong on his end. ik a few other people have had this issue and was wondering if there was a fix for this. one thing we did notice was that every time we would get kicked from the world my friend was hosting his status on steam would change from tmodloader to terraria (not sure if this means anything). resetting his steam would revert this but then we were on the same hour timer again.

Welcome to #support-forum. Before someone helps you, please first consult the information in #TML Troubleshooting Guide and try all the suggestions that might fit your particular issue, especially in the linked FAQ page. If the information in the pinned thread does not solve your issue, please post all log files by dragging and dropping them into this chat. In Steam right click on tModLoader in the library, then hover over Manage and click on Browse local files. In the folder that appears find tModLoader-Logs and open that folder. Inside that folder are the logs files. Select them all except the Old folder and drag them into this chat.
