Windows 11 Opening Valorant
I recently bought this refurbished laptop, with i5 14450hx and rtx 4050. I thought I wouldnt have a problem playing Valo with these specs but Win 11 gave me headaches. I tried running in compatibilty mode and updated all drivers but still nothing. Anybody has this issue?

What’s the issue? Does the game not start at all ? What happens when you click on play?
doesnt start at all, there was audio at the start but other than that all black screen
Gotcha
Could you open task manager > performance tab
And show ss in gpu tab
it started one time when I disabled my integrated graphics but that was so bad.
You shouldn’t do that
I saw that as an option to fix it so I tried it
here is my gpu

Show ss in gpu 1
here ya go, mb

Press windows key
Type installed apps and open it
From there delete Everything related to nvidia
Then
https://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/576.80/576.80-notebook-win10-win11-64bit-international-dch-whql.exe
Download and install the driver
aight, give me a sec
Once everyone is installed
Restart your PC and try the game
still downloading
installed and restarted my laptop
imma give it a try
still the same thing, there was audio but all black screen
SAMEEEE
sameee
i have the same issue
I think its because of Win 11 overall
But i dont wanna roll back or downgrade
my old laptop was a windows 11
val works fine on that
my laptop is a rtx 4070
got it last mont
all games run except val
Really??
yeaa
Damn then idk what it is
genshin,cs go, apex, spiderman, gow
etc etc
all work well
except val
it wont even load
Same with here as well, every game I tried so far has worked except Val
Then val is the problem
ig we somehow have the same issue
fr
what to do?
Yea thats the common denominator
Maybe try submitting a technical ticket in the riot games website
i did
waiting for a response
Yea I guess that's your best shot
i swear broo
i bought this laptop to play val
in 200+ fps
instead of 40 fps
I did submit a ticket
and the one game i want to have a good time in wont work
But it was taking so long, thats why Im here lol
Lol sorry for you
At the bright side it's not an issue with your laptop

@Nuffsaid can you record a video of what you see when you launch the game
Okay hold on
here @junimo
here are my riot logs as well
thanks, taking a look
sure thing. thank you
ok you are gonna have to google this but try looking up how to disable hardware accelerated gpu scheduling and disable fullscreen optimizations for valorant
for some reason the gpu driver is having an issue running valorant as fullscreen
maybe before all of this try hitting alt + enter in the valorant window to see if you can force it into windowed mode
if you are able to play in windowed mode then try what I said earlier and google how to do those
Aight, ill try that as soon as I get back home.
i turned of hardware accelerated gpu scheduling
Let me know if that works @WeebZero
ok
still wont work
and wont even go into windowed mode
hmm let me look up if there's a way to force windowed mode through config
umm
i dont have the save and config options
i get bineries
or content
it should be somewhere in %localappdata%\VALORANT\Saved\Config
called GameUserSettings.ini
its not there
wait nvm
found it
still opens in full window
for some reason
ots 4am
ima go sleep
so sorry
im tired
aight imma try it
I was able to get it into windowed but still loading slow
Nvm it loaded
Should I set it now always into windowed? Or would it be okay to be in windowed fullscreen?
Yea it only works if its windowed
@Nuffsaid I think it's some windows 11 bug
specifically on laptops
try looking up disabling multiplane overlay and see if that gets you to play with fullscreen
what if i go to windows 10 download it
and if it works go back into windows 11
Probably won’t help, I’d try disabling multiplane overlay

Multiplane Overlay support (MPO) can be supported by Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) 1.3 and later drivers and was introduced with Windows 8.1. Although it can benefit decreased GPU and CPU workloads, there are reports that disabling MPO can resolve display issues. Here's how:

aight imma try real quick
I did that and its not loading at all. I had it windowed already but it doesnt seem to work now
sheesh, ok well something is really broken about windows or your gpu driver then, try installing an older gpu driver to see if it works
I undid the MPO thing and it works fine now
On full screen?
Nah, still windowed
@Nuffsaid are you running win11 24h2 by chance
nah, im not. i uninstalled the latest update. im at 23h2
yeah im not sure what's going on, win11 has been an L
w11 24h2 and the newer nvidia drivers are horrible. alot of stuff not working well.
