LUKS and NVMe speed optimizations
I did a speed test with my new NVMe and sadly I'm only getting 1500 MB/s with KDiskMark on my encrypted NVMe (which can in theory read up to 7,000 MB/s). It's on PCIe 3.0 which might slow it down a bit, plus there's the LUKS encryption. I'm still wondering how I'm only getting that small a fraction of the top speeds. So, I read up a bit on the topic and stumbled upon this article:
https://blog.cloudflare.com/speeding-up-linux-disk-encryption/
showing that by default, LUKS may unnecessarily slow down an NVMe. At the end of the article there is a mention of specific parameters that can be used to speed up NVMe performance with LUKS.
Other specs: Ryzen 5 5600X and 16 GB DDR4 RAM.
My question:
Has bazzite implemented the recommended improvements to LUKS to get the optimal NVMe performance or is there something else that I can try to optimize my NVMe performance?
