Having trouble installing steam
Hey, I just installed bazzite steam gaming mode for my HTPC setup. I got stuck during the installation process on the "update complete, launching steam" screen. I found a thread that had the same problem, and I followed the instructions there. I was able to get into the desktop menu with "steamos-session-select desktop", open the terminal, and run "ujust fix-reset-steam". It started to work, but it seems to be looping the same few errors for the past few minutes. Things like "Error: ld.so: object '.../.../...' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded" and "Starting steamwebhelper under bootstrap steamrt" and such. I can attach a photo if need be. What should i do?

An update, I managed to download steam from the included store, and I can get it running. I can log in, and presumably play games, but on reboot I get stick on the same ASRock (my mbo brand) screen after a quick loading screen
Which ISO did you use? And also can you attach your specs?
Im using Bazzite Deck, Ive got a ryzen 5 5500 and intel b580
I actually got it to work, I think what did it was swapping two identical boot orders in my bios for whatever reason
either that or disabling csm and enabling rebar and 4g encoding, but who knows
Cool, happy gaming then 😄
thank you much!
Just saying, if you manually installed steam from flatpak (discover store) and continue to use it it's really not the intended way and you will be reminded to remove it when dealing with future issues
Good to know, I’ll uninstall it
