When u write those simult eqns the main current which u called i will change in both cases when S is 10 and 30 so u cant take i u have to take them differently in both cases ig

@hardcoreisdead the problem in your solution is that you took i to be the same in both cases. when shunt changes the total current will also change, so you'll need an extra variable
so it's better to express i in terms of E and the resistors
and then solve for them
