Customizing the MOTD

First post here, I have been using Bazzite for a couple of days as my Desktop and love it so far. I'm currently trying to customize the MOTD to show my own.

Here are the things I tried so far:
- toggling off the default MOTD with "ujust toggle-user-motd"
- editing the /etc/motd file (because I read this is how you do it in some other linux flavours, although it didnt work as expected)
- editing the /etc/user-motd (because I read this post https://universal-blue.discourse.group/t/modifying-etc-profile-d-user-motd-sh/2305, but I'm still not sure how to "disable" the ublue-motd so that my user-motd would be shown)

In each case I added a simple echo to my MOTD. But when I toggle the motd off with the ujust script, my MOTD just stays empty when restarting the terminal.

I'm suspecting that I still did not fully grasp some core concepts.
