iPad Ente Photos App: Not Connecting to Self-Hosted Instance

Hello folks 👋🏼 Today I tried to log in to my self hosted ente photos instance from my ipad (2025 edition) and constantly getting “password incorrect” errors. Logging in to my web instance with the same user and password works flawlessly, so the instance itself seems healthy. My domain is correctly set in the ipad app (at least the frontend says so), but I am pretty sure that in reality the app still tries to connect to the official ente photos instance. Why? Because i see no specific logs about login errors in my instance, also the sender of the email verification code is not the sender from my instance, but the official ente. Furthermore, my instance is set up to ask for an additional code (TOTP) in the authentication flow, whereas this did not happen on the ipad. Thanks for having a look into that.

This is most likely the issue, could you try a fresh install?

Thx for your quick response. That indeed fixed the problem. So for iPad, one should install the app, set the custom domain, and reinstall for it to work? Just wondering in general 🙂

Just setting the custom domain should have worked, I'm guessing something else went wrong here
