When to use the RatOS ConfigurationWizard/ConfigurationMotionWizard
I first used the ConfigurationWizard 6 months ago after rebuilding part of my RatRig VCore3-400 and moving to RatOS V2. It worked fine and set everything up and has not had any issue.
My Bondtech LGX (no pro) broke so I replaced it with the LGX PRO which has a bigger stepper motor, metal gears and a bigger all metal Large Gear.
Q1. Should I have used the 'Configurator/SetupWizard' again?
Is there a 'change the existing configuration' that I did not notice?
The 'Configuration/Motion' is a subset of the SetupWizard with the same issues mentioned below but it will not change the extruder, hotend, fans, filament sensor etc.
I went through the whole configuration SetupWizard process again only making the one Extruder change (LGX to LGX PRO). I did not see a way of making this change without the wizzard since the extruder settings are imported by the SetupWizard and put into the RatOS.cfg file. It also created a new printer.cfg file and overwrote the changes I had made to the printer.cfg file and then ended by telling me it was time to go through the initial commisioning/calibration again. It did change the RatOS.cfg[extruder]rotation_distance(7.805) to a new value and set the RatOS.cfg[tmc2209]run_current: 0.707 for the new LGX PRO which is why I ran the wizard over hoping I could set everything correctly in the printer.cfg file. Putting my changes back into the printer.cfg file is easy but the steps needed to recommission/recalibrate (z_offset, PIDs, input shaper, pressure advance, etc) take some serious time.
Q2. In the future should I be using RatOS'Configurator' again when I make a physical change to the printer that is part of a RatOS 'ConfigurationWizard' or attempt to implement the change through the printer.cfg file and never use RatOS'Configurator' again? I have a new Mosquito Magnum PLUS to replace the existing Mosquito Magnum (no plus) and I also have a filament runout sensor that will soon be added.
