Crashes upon loading / random crashes in-game

While playing distant horizons with shaders (Complementary Unbound r5.5.1 & Euphoria Patches), the game often crashes (raised segmentation fault exception) upon loading the world. It also randomly happens while being in the world a while after loading. What might be causing this and how can I solve it?
