I'm using Fabric with DistantHorizons-fabric-2.3.3-b-dev-1.21.7.jar Server is running Paper with DistantHorizonsSupport-Bukkit-Paper-0.10.0-SNAPSHOT-1.21.7.jar As soon as i join the server, my game crashes and closes. I don't know what versions should be used with each other

Unlikely that this is related to the plugin. Please post your client logs.

Huh, it just cuts off like that? How much memory have you given the game? Do you you get any error message at all?

am i perhaps using the wrong version? 4 GB nope, just instantly crashes and closes

Very weird. Looks like it is in the middle of doing something with shaders though. Can you try removing any shaders you have installed?

i don't have any DH is the only mod installed

And if you remove DH then it works fine?

Did MC give a crash log or anything? There should be something else.

Right, there might be a separate log file in the game profile directory

The fog shader failed to compile and that crashed the GPU driver. I’ve seen this error rarely before but haven’t been able to reproduce it myself. My best suggestion is update your GPU drivers and if that doesn’t work disable DH fog.

will try and come back with the results apparently my drivers are already the latest version will try the fog then

thanks guys ❤️ ok, it works but something weird happens first time i join the server it works, if i exit and immediately try going back, it crashes then i reopen minecraft, join the server, works, exit and join again, crashes it's not a problem for me, but maybe the logs can help you with something

Looks like the same exact crash

that's weird

Hm, no maybe it's a different shader that time I was just comparing the program counter value

may i mark the solution or will you investigate a bit?

You can mark the disabling of fog as a solution. I think it's going to be difficult to debug this without having access to a machine where it happens. What kind of GPU do you have?

RX 570 4GB Armor Oc or something like that, i don't have the box anymore and can't find it in the specs

The exact variant is probably not that important. I just wanted to know as an additional data point to compare if we see this again at a later time. Thanks Bonus question: Have you ever experienced a game crash where your entire screen turns green and the machine has to be rebooted?
gustanabo
gustanaboOP5mo ago
hmm not exactly, things like that happen like once a month but the screen doesn't turn green (and not in minecraft either) but it usually stops happening when i clean my RAM connectors
