Low Performance with Scaling Filters

System: Lenovo Legion Go
OS: Bazzite 42

Whenever I run an application in exclusive fullscreen and enable one of the scaling filters besides Linear (i.e. Pixel or Sharp), it seems to affect performance in some strange ways. Besides increasing frame times (not unexpected from adding post-processing effects), it also seems to interact strangely with frame rate capping.

For example:

With frame rate cap disabled, game runs at 74 FPS average in a scene with Linear scaling down to 66 FPS with Pixel scaling or 61 FPS with Sharp scaling.

With a 48 FPS frame rate cap, game runs steadily at 48 FPS in a scene with Linear scaling, but goes down to 41 FPS with Pixel or Sharp scaling.

Basically, it seems like there's something going on in the pipeline with how image scaling is applied relative to where the frame rate cap is applied, and it's causing there to be issues with performance even when there should sufficient overhead to maintain a steady frame rate at a specific cap.
