Increase Distance Radius
I've seen screenshots and videos of people being able to see pretty much the entire world from way up in the sky. How do they do this? Any settings I can find in the menu for increasing generation or rendering are capped at 4096, and changing them in the config seems to do nothing. I am blind, though, so it is very likely I missed something obvious.

From the water behind me to the land on the far end of the water way over there is about 20k blocks. Because I have already been over there, and the LOD already exists, it seems to render fine. It's the generating of the LODs that won't go above 4096. I suppose it makes sense for it not to on a technical level if it just can't, but then how do some people see the entire world? It would take far beyond a lifetime to actually go and renger all of it to manually get the LODs to generate.
You can go past 4096 by enabling unsafe values in debug settings, or by editing the config file by hand
But the generation will take a very very long time

World generation in general is quite slow, if you want to speed it up:
Install Noisium, Lithium and C2ME(DH 2.3.0+). These mods can improve generation speed by a bit, but it will still not be fast.
Increase
CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)You can do the second part to see the generation in real time
Also are you on a server?
I am currently in single player. The world is pre-made. I am building my own world in WorldPainter.
