Smart Search fails with `Unable to run job handler` even though Face Detection works
Hello, I am currently using immich with caddy and tailscale. Immich's face detection and recognition features work but when I try to run smart search, it returns
Unable to run job handler (smart-search): Error: Machine learning request '{"clip":{"visual":{"modelName":"immich-app/ViT-SO400M-16-SigLIP2-384__webli"}}}' failed for all URLs

I initially thought that it was due to my docker containers not being in the same network, but the issue still persists with all the containers in the same network. What could be causing this issue?9 Replies

In order to be able to effectively help you, we need you to provide clear information to show what the problem is. The exact details needed vary per case, but here is a list of things to consider:
- Your docker-compose.yml and .env files.
- Logs from all the containers and their status (see above).
- All the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far.
- Any recent changes you've made to Immich or your system.
- Details about your system (both software/OS and hardware).
- Details about your storage (filesystems, type of disks, output of commands like fdisk -l
and df -h
).
- The version of the Immich server, mobile app, and other relevant pieces.
- Any other information that you think might be relevant.

I currently cannot access my server locally, so reverse proxy and tailscale is my only way of accessing it :/
model name shouldn't contain immich-app
I still get the same issue. Logs below:

I’m not sure what happened, but I changed the model name, reset everything and restarted docker and it worked!
