Got a black screen in some games while the music is playing

Started recently, 2 of the games I am playing, Dishonored definitive edition and Fallout 3, cannot start properly. The games are installed from Epic store and launched from Steam.
After launch, the games show a black screen, but I can hear the background music was still playing.
Interestingly, if I launch the Heroic launcher from Steam first, then launching Dishonored, the game runs well. However, this trick doesn't work for Fallout 3. I also tried to launch these game from desktop mode, but experienced the same results.
Both games worked well a few weeks ago. So I guess it is due to a recent update. But both Steam and Heroic and the proton runtimes have been updated recently.
