configuring light shafts complementary reimagined

so theres scene aware and extreme settings for the light shafts, i want the light shafts to be very visible indoors through windows, but i dont want it very foggy outside like it is on the extreme setting. the day multiplier helps with the fog outside, but it just makes the indoor light shafts not visible again, as in the fogginess itself from the light shaft not the light from it itself. is there any configuring i can do within the files of the shader to make only the indoor light shafts more visible and keep the fog outside to a minimum?
