Black Screen, Terminal Failed
I've hit an issue I don't understand and I'm not even sure how to start solving it. While installing a steam game, steam suddenly shows a Disk Wire Error. Then a couple seconds later the web browser closes and the desktop goes black. I did Ctl+Alt+T to open a terminal and it says Terminal Failed and I can't do anything with it. Ctl+Alt+1 or 3 does nothing. This is the second time this has happened with this game. First time I tried pressing the power button and got a prompt that it failed to unmount the Pipe file system and show the Plymouth shutdown screen. As nothing was responding I hard reset the machine. It then couldn't find the EFI info on that nvme and booted to one of my backup nvme's with their own boot sector. I checked Bazzites drive from there and it easily passes SMART. I took a backup and grabbed System rescue but when rebooting it found the bazzite boot partition again and booted into bazzite fine. I shrugged and did a little disaster prep. Started using the environment for the day and when I eventually booted Steam, bam, died again. I'm trying to figure out how I gracefully reset the system and stop this from happening.
