2100ms TTFB

When I proxy my site with Cloudflare, my TTFB goes up by about 2100ms. I don't think it is related to server locations. My host is a2 hosting with my shared server in Michigan; cloudlare colo is lax and I'm near San Francisco. Everything was great until about 10 days ago when the 2100ms delay just started out of the blue. I've tried caching everything, caching nothing, and just about every setting and rule I could find, to no avail. When I pause Cloudflare or stop proxying the CNAME for the site (www.carpokes.com) the latency goes away completely and every page pulls up quickly. Any ideas? p.s., I've paused cloudflare on the site to avoid hobbling it, so you won't see the issue if you visit. I could unpause it if needed though...
