Password reset after initial install.

I am brand new to Linux and have seen some stuff about bazzite, so I decided to give it a go. With some grief and trouble shooting (partially my fault) I got bazzite running on my pc. Now I went to put in my password, it does not work. I have tried my password and the default bazzite password and neither work. I found the guide on how to reset user passwords for bazzite, but when pressing the esc key, I either do not get the window for grub that is showcased in the guide, or I pressed it too much and get the grub cmd line (I think that is what it is called). Is there an easier way to go about this or am I gonna have to try to make the guide work and see if I can hit the esc button at the right time. I am not sure if this is the right area for this, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: got the aforementioned window in the guide, but when I press any keys it decides to just boot into bazzite.

try entering the bios and booting into bazzite from there - it usually goes into the grub selection menu (where you're prompted to enter a bazzite deployment)

Ok ill give it a go here shortly and boot from the bios. Well that does work so thank you amel. It is for some reason not staying on the screen long but I think I'll be able to get it to work. Thanks, it worked to get into the place I wanted to go but I am not sure what happened when I made my user and such but it is not recognizing anything I am putting in. Thank you for the help. I am going to try clean wiping my the drive of Linux and reinstalling
