SMM queries the APIs of the EPIC and Steam game store apps to determine where your game is. If you moved its location after installation manually, your installer client will not know where it is. You will need to reinstall your game through your store client so that it is in a known location. This will not affect your saves.

it should auto detect your steam install, are you trying to add it as a server or something? if I recall correctly "failed to add installation" only appears during adding servers, but I could be wrong otherwise, not sure why this is happening. try sending the smm log file since it isn't being included in the debug zip for some reason >files_logs

huh, I wonder if you had a version before auto update was added or something, it should have offered to update you to v3
