cpu load on a 11600k unplayable at balanced
literally i think its even causing discord on my pc not to show cause of how heavy it is on my cpu, all the mobs are frozen and I can't play the game even on minimum impact physics mod doesnt nearly cause this amount of lag for me

World generation in general is quite slow, if you want to speed it up:
Install Noisium, Lithium and C2ME(DH 2.3.0+). These mods can improve generation speed by a bit, but it will still not be fast.
Increase
CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)its not the generation its obliterating my cpu at every level the performance barely changes except at minimal the npcs sometimes work
Unless you for sure know that you have completed generation for your entire render distance, then its probably running generation
And if you have world generation mods or datapacks it's going to be extra slow
but why is it so hard to run by itself
i dont need it to generate
i need to play the game and mine things when it doesnt let me
my cpu aint even that bad
and i have 32 gb of ram
its on minimal and i cant
DH needs to either take existing chunks or generate new chunks in order to know what the world should look like in the distance
so i cant use it in survival mode is what your saying
i cant get food or anything so idk whats going on i even checked task manager
Maybe you can't, but that's probably not an issue with DH.
What other mods and datapacks do you have installed?
How much memory have you assigned to Minecraft?
What are your Java launch arguments?
What are your DH settings?
How are your CPU temps?
nothing else is doin this
gimme a sec ill feed my dogs rq
heres the modlist its got towns and towers terralith better trees and tectonic those are the major ones
i have 16 gb of memory allocated, i set it to high but i didnt notice any fps issues mid change, i set it to minimum impact , and i have no java arguments, im downloading msi afterburner right now to see the temps
16 GBs might be excessive unless you have other mods that require this amount. Overly large heaps are known to cause stuttering, although I suppose your current issue is different

here u go
its absolute peak is 91 c but it goes back down to 86 so
this is best case scenario ive never benchmarked my temps so
it only gets that hot when the gpu gets hotter
but for some reason its only using 50% of my gpu
also
when i toggle shaders it disables dh completely
also the performance issues go away when the rendering is at normal for some reason
Pay attention to your CPU clock speeds as temps rise. It might be slowing down to avoid overheating
it dropped down from 4600 to 4300 mhz idk if thats gonna make a big difference
but i wasnt able to replicate that high temp again even with my room fan off
it definitely does rise simultaneously as the clock speeds lower your right
man i just upgraded too a shame ngl i need a better cooler
thanks for your help sorry i was a little pressed
No worries. And you're right, that's not a large drop in frequency - but it would be better if it stayed at base or boost
If you leave Minecraft running while DH is generating, it will eventually finish and settle down
