Cyberpunk 2.3 - FSR4/Framegen
Hi guys,
I‘m new here and hope this question is inside the rules:
I managed to get FSR4 via Optiscaler on Cyberpunk, which looks absolutely stunning!
Now that patch 2.3 is out, I can‘t get the options in the menu to appear. I tried using Proton GE 10-4 with FSR4_UPGRADE=1 %command% - but it only shows FSR2 and 3.
Anyone already pulled this one off using bazzite?
See below: Update to MESA 25.2 and using Proton GE 10-10 with the Launch Parameter PROTON_FSR4_UPGRADE=1 %command%
does the trick!
Thanks to MRChandy!

Are you using RDNA4? Because FSR4 shows up perfectly fine in game for me.
I did take out optiscaler and all of its dlls out, verified the install with Steam, and removed FSR4_UPGRADE flag. Maybe try that? I've yet to try putting optiscaler back in, since it isn't as relevant with official FSR4 support.
Pretty sure the FSR4_UPGRADE flag just swaps out the 3.1 dll for the fsr4 dll under the hood. It wouldn't change what the menus in the game say. So you can likely ditch the FSR4_UPGRADE flag, at least I did and I've got mine working.
I tried removing all the flags and it’s still the same. I‘m running a 9070xt in my rig, so RDNA4 is present. It still just shows Fsr2 and 3 in the menu.
Interesting, I wonder if the fsr4 option in game showed up for me because I have launched with Mesa 25.2, and now it stays available even when launched with 25.1. Maybe it only says its there and doesn't actually work with Mesa 25.1 :Glorpshrug:
How did you install 25.2?
I built it in a distrobox, but there is an easier way.
/usr/share/ublue-os/just/89-bazzite-mesa-git.just
use this ujust _mesa-git
script and it downloads it from a contributor that has already built it and builds a script that can be invoked to make an application use mesa-git. Just keep in mind that its experimental and not official.
Or you can wait, 25.2 is going to release in approx 2 weeks ish.thanks so much! I guess, I‘ll just wait those 2 weeks.
Well, now that Mesa 25.2 is installed, the game still doesn’t give mw the FSR 4 options. It’s puzzling.🤨
When I updated Bazzite it reverted mine, so I changed the proton version to GE-Proton 10.10 and added the PROTON_FSR4_UPGRADE=1 variable back. Showed back up after that.
Now that did the trick! Case closed! Thank you again!
