Starboard offline on my server
I read on the troubleshooting thing that starboard just randomly goes offline and stops working on certain servers and to come here if it did. And that happened on my server. Do feel free to tell me if this isn't the right place for it, but this seemed about right

Oh also the only settings I messed with on it were the requirements (set to 1 star emote to get starred). I don't know if that's any help
Does it respond to /ping
Pong! I'm here.
It does not
it's offline on our server as well, doesn't respond to ping

Yeah mine did the same thing
apparently twilight-gateway 0.16.0 may have fixed this issue btw https://discord.com/channels/745809834183753828/1152246357810217000/1196766762352521216
starboard appears to be using 0.15.4
Yeah
I restarted the bot, should be back in a few minutes
the problem is that upgrading isn't simple and I haven't had the motivation to do it
the release changed a lot
fair :p
Thank you! It worked ^^
What to do if the starboard itself stopped working in a server (similarly to as described in this thread) but does respond to ping and all its other commands work? The only thing that's not working now is that it's not posting messages to the starboards anymore
it's probabjy a permission issue
try @Starboard in the starboard channel
@Starboard
See
/help
for more information on Starboard. If you don't see slash commands, try reinviting me using the "Add to Server" button on my profile. That's the thing that's weird. Nothing has changed about the permissions and the owner double-checked and they're fine. I'll try that though
Did that and it responded as normal
do you have an example message that isn't working right
run /utils info on it
Oh I'll have to ask the owner to do that in a sec. I don't have that command
Weird. This would imply it's a perm issue but he said the bot said it can read the messages just fine + that's also evidenced by how it responds correctly to being pinged

might be missing message history permission in the channel where the message is
what if you run /utils recount or /utils force
Force turned "Application did not respond"
try again?
Actually he just removed and readded it. If what I know about how bots work is correct that's not going to do anything but. Let's see. It does mean it'll be a second before we can run those commands again though
????????? Re-adding it fixed the problem...?
If what I know about how bots work is correct that's not going to do anything but.yeah for the most part lol, though if it's a cache issue the guild delete followed by the guild create can fix that
Do you have any idea why that might've been. Because I thought it wouldn't have any effect on account of sharding and whatever
but it shouldn't happen in the first place
could be a cache issue, could be a permission issue that was fixed by re-creating the bot role
Well, good to know that it worked, even though it's weird that it broke in the first place
there was another cache issue a week ago (that I knew of - so there's probable been more). But that doesn't really makes sense to me unless discord is doing something wrong
so idk
All of the permissions were intact so I guess it was the cache
yeah that seems like the most likely
annoying
Thanks for the useful support + very fast reply
