Same issue here
does doing

in terminal do anything?sigsegv
core dump guh
thats not normal lol.
got a SS of it?

this issue on git may be the same thing youre dealing with.
unsure if its the exact same.

Segmentation fault after loading is finished Ā· Issue #148 Ā· kolun...
Bazaar loads for a bit and when the progress bar is done, it segmentation faults. Here is the log: atiusamy@bluefin:~$ /usr/bin/bazaar window --auto-service (bazaar:8820): CRITICAL : 15:13:28....

well they at least got the service running
just for funsies, use the envar, see if anything happens. I doubt it, but at this point fuck it.
Git seems to not have this specific issue listed.
i had, and other ppl, this problem in the morning, some ppl said that after puting GSK_RENDERER=opengl in the environment variable resolved the issue.
For me, did not, for me,was changing the theme and back again.

running the serviice with G_MESSAGES_DEBUG=all var
aight take those screenshots and drop an issue on the github.
tracking this is something kolunmi will probs want.
i think 4gb of memory just isn't enough for bazzite lmao
oh shit
or that
swap should expand automatically right?
i still recommend the git page though. Chances are someone else will deal with this issue, and better tracking of it is way better.
not sure on this. I've seen multiple users switch to like 16gb on swap for some reason
or zram for that matter
mhm
question is, why was it fine before the update
chances are a fix was put in place that interacts with something, and the wires got mixed
hard for us to say, as non-devs
at least the fallback (flathub) still works perfectly.
it does but i can't just tell my sister to use the terminal lol
i get ya
actually from what kyle said
bazaar is just that new. theres gonna be bugs.
bugs that we cant explain b/c we smoothbrain over here.
but this should get fixed real fast
it uses x11 backend by default now
yup.
maybe it's allocating video memory incorrectly therefore crash
im toying with my bazaar to see if i can get it to fail
i doubt this, as it works perfectly on my end
wonder if there's a way to get it run through wayland
memory shows less than a 5% difference
do you have a 940mx with 2gb vram and 4gb ram though
not memory difference
but the way it gets handled
nah, but the change noticed should be the same regardless
well ig
that'd be outside of my skills š¦
Won't even open for me:
(bazaar:4129): Gtk-WARNING : 22:27:58.152: Unknown key gtk-modules in /home/spaceboy/.config/gtk-4.0/settings.ini

The Bazaar service is not running. The following commands will start the daemon: bazaar service bazaar window --auto-service bazaar open ... Exiting...
I'm getting the extra same error. Running the latest update.
those are warnings and not errors
they shouldn't prevent bazaar from working
my issue is likely unrelated to yours
Isn't that almost exactly what yours says in the top screenshot?
it's a warning though
it wouldn't prevent the app from working
my issue is i sigsegv
Just installed Bazzite, having same error. Does not even open, I have ran the update checker, no fix, having to manually install flatpaks for now. Not a great experience to have installing the distro. Granted, this is coming from a windows user.
Guys, every example I see is someone just running
bazaar
Please read the output, you're supposed to add more to actually open the thing
Run rpm-ostree status
and post the output for meMy apolgies, first time here, my output is:

No need to apologize, that looks good
Run
cat /usr/bin/bazaar | fpaste
for me and give me the linkhere is the output link: https://paste.centos.org/view/3c98c7c5
Try this
GDK_BACKEND=x11 bazaar-hotfix window --auto-service
After running in terminal I got this response:
(bazaar-hotfix:14236): Gtk-WARNING **: 23:39:23.199: Unknown key gtk-modules in /home/jkirkintexas/.config/gtk-4.0/settings.ini

Okay, you've got something I've not seen
Open an issue here:
GitHub
kolunmi/bazaar
New App Store for GNOME. Contribute to kolunmi/bazaar development by creating an account on GitHub.
And mention that I asked you to
Is there anything specifically I need to list in the issue or title. Sorry been a cool few years since I have used github.
"Crash on Nvidia hardware, not Wayland or Vulkan"
And the same output you just gave me
They'll ask for more if needed
copy, I opened the issue with that title and the output of terminal from:
GDK_BACKEND=x11 bazaar-hotfix window --auto-service
CMD. Thank you for the help! Excited to see how this all works out! šoh yeah that's the issue I have too, there's like three separate segfault issues
was about to file an issue but saw this here, thank you!
I'm not on nvidia so probably not have to do with that
It did seem to be something specific with my hardware config, but I know I'm not the only one having issues with multiple different hardware. As can be seen here.
I'm kinda curious why bazaar was pushed out and replaced discover so fast
when it seems it's just not quite stable yet
three segfault issues in a few days
Hi, I don't understand anything about this but I'm having the same problem, any solution?
Make sure you're up to date
I've tried everything, but it still doesn't work. When I use system update, it tells me there's nothing to do. I guess I'll wait for an update.
Can you give me some details about your hardware?
It's an Argentine government laptop, it has an Intel Celeron N4020, UHD Graphics 600 and 4GB of RAM, I installed it on this system to test the distribution due to your comments.
Thank you
I tried setting the GSJ_RENDERER=opengl parameter in bazaar but it didn't work either
Yeah that's specifically a workaround for a Nvidia driver bug
Appreciate you trying it
I'll ping you soon, might have something to test for you
Thanks again and have a nice day I'll be attentive
Find an alternative solution: use Warehouse to install .flatpakref applications. The applications can be downloaded from the FlatHub website, and you can use Warehouse to install them.
Just as easy from the terminal no? . Flatpak install application. No need for gui
Should be fully fixed, forgot to mention here
I wasn't ready for using flatpak only like on debian
Lutris on flatpak is not recommended by lutris's devs
lutris is preinstalled as an rpm and is not a flatpak
I have no idea why you keep saying things as if you were a space alien given only the rough concept of bazzite and not allowed to actually touch it
and I also have no idea why this comment belonged here in a help thread that doesn't mention flatpak or lutris
