VAOC camera + crowsnest causing causing system freezes (chamber camera fine)

I have been able to use the VAOC camera successfully for dozens of prints over the last 2 months. Just yesterday the OS started freezing up. It's taking 10s per keystroke to SSH in, mainsail won't load. Then it seems to crash after a few minutes.
When I reboot it's accessible for about 30s. Which is long enough to systemctl stop crowsnest which instantly unfreezes the system. If I instead watch journalctl logs, there is no indication of anything wrong. It all appears normal until it freezes and I get disconnected. If I comment out the VAOC camera from crowsnest.conf, everything works fine including chamber camera. If I leave VAOC but comment out chamber cam, it seizes up. So definitely something wrong with the VAOC camera. Before I start taking VAOC apart is there a good way to debug this or at least a good way to collect information about it? EDIT: I was previously bragging about running my bed at 160C for 1-2hr at a time (and 60C chamber) which made me a little worried about VAOC. But the last 20 hours before this failure was all open chamber TPU, and PLA, bed at 50C. But I suppose it's possible that it is a delayed reaction
