Planning, paths, how to make it all flow

Hey ! Well something I've been dealing with for some time is how to make it all "flow". What I mean by it is, how do you make zoos that are so smooth, like everything clicks. The path and planning connect with each other and the different sections in the zoo connect and makes it look like a real-life zoo.

Usually it takes planning and a bit of practice. Most zoos irl have zones to them, so all the Africa stuff is nearby itself and you can keep some of that themeing but mixed in with your global (all over) themeing. Lots of people draw it out or do a general sketch on the ground with the terrain brushes.

I plan my zoos out in advance by drawing on the ground with the different terrain tools I outline habitat boundaries, paths, etc and I'll write the initial of the animal I want to put there (like P for penguin) Before I start building habitats, I'll outline them with null barriers and see how big my planned area is and compare that to the species requirement in the zoopedia page I also use a variety of path sizes and when I connect them, I'll place a path in the "armpits" of the junction and then delete them It ends up creating a much smoother transition and makes the paths feel more whole and connected

Sorry for the late response, went on vacation the day after without having discord on my phone. XD I do the things you mentioned with the outlines and marking where I want the pathing, foliage, habitats etc. And the last tip sounds like a really good idea. Thank you !
