Is there a way to have prefix icons on a fabric server?

I'm very new to server hosting and I've tried looking online on how to get prefix/rank icons on a fabric minecraft server, but most of the guides use spigot/paper servers and use plugins. (to my knowledge, plugins and fabric don't mix well.)
