Worst Performance on DH than Vanilla
Hi, I'm testing DH in my server:
- the server is private and self hosted
- the server runs in Fabric
- the server was empty during testing
- The computer running the client have R7 7840u and a 780m integrated.
- The client mods are listed in the image
I was testing to see the performance difference between vanilla at 32 native chunks, DH at 12 vanilla chunks and more 20 via DH in the "4. High" preset.
For the Server its lighter to run DH (like 4 mspt in my case). But for the client is worst, instead of getting constant 60 fps i was getting high 40 fps.
I'm wandering if this is supposed to happen, is the expected performance worse in this low render distance scenarios?

Yeah, DH is not a performance mod, it is a render distance increasing mod
Don't know at which RD DH overthrows vanilla
But you shouldn't use DH at below 64 RD for sure
The thing with DH is that (when not at the higher presets) the performance doesn't really decrease when you increase the RD
But there will always be this flat performance decrease just from having DH
Yes, I wasn't expecting to have increased performance in the client, but i wasn't expecting a +20% decrease as well
for the server I would say it is a performance enhancing mod if you limit the render distance
anyways, thanks for the sanity check
