Why are mutations so hard to get on pets? and there are too little pet mutations, i get this is the first update they were added, but age 50 is way too hard to get if your not using starfishes

Honestly it does seem unfair for newer players. But there are SO many things that help in leveling up pets. Like ostriches, (unless its a disco bee lol) owls, toys and bones, treats, and what not. Even if you weren't able to get owls the new iguanodon is good If you want to level up dinos.
