VALORANT not launching
Everytime I press play on Riot Client for val, it'll turn gray indicating that its starting to launch, but it'll also make my PC EXTREMELY laggy, all buttons I try to press are delayed by at least 20 seconds, windows are super laggy, takes 5 minutes to open anything, and in the end val won't even end up launching. When I somehow got task manager to open, my usage for things like CPU, GPU, and RAM weren't even maxed out, they were barely being used. I've already tried restarting and reinstalling val. This issue only started happening today, I was able to play last night with no issues. I have a 4060, 16 GB of RAM, and a 13th gen i5 so hardware is definitely not the issue. Anyone else having the same issue or know what to do? Thanks.

did you even read what I said gng
Oh sorry
@vyzin Update drivers
already have
Then idrk sorry
Not sure if this is related but try this
Press windows key + r
Type appdata
Then go to local > valorant
And delete the saved folder
didn't fix it
Try doing a clean boot
Press windows key
Search “msconfig”
And open “System Configuration”
Head to “Services” tab
Check “Hide all Microsoft services”
And then “Disable all”
And find “vgc” and enable that only
Open “Task Manager”
Then head to “Startup Apps”
And disable all
Then enable all riot related
Then restart your pc
this works, the lag doesn't happen and val launches. But it also makes all my other applications I use regularly not work correctly and I get Error Code: VAN 68 from val
Do the above steps and enable your other most used apps
Also do this
;vgc
- Open the Task Manager > Details tab
- End the task on all VALORANT, Riot Client and VANGUARD-related apps/services
- Open the Control Panel > Uninstall a Program
- Uninstall Riot VANGUARD
- Open CMD as Admin and type these commands:
- sc delete vgc
- sc delete vgk
- Navigate to your C: Drive, then Program Files
- Find the VANGUARD folder and delete it
- Open the Riot Client and click update
- Restart your computer after the update
After you’re done with that:
- Press Windows key + R
- Type services.msc
- Look for vgc
- Right-click on vgc > Properties
- Change the startup type to automatic
- Start the services (if not started already)
We will be waiting for your response, thank you.
hi sorry for the late reply but why does this solution work? And do you know which service(s) is causing the issue? If so couldn't I just turn off that one and be fine?
Vangaurd bugs sometimes or the file(s) aren't installed correctly; therefore a reinstall works, what that does is reinstall Vangaurd (VGC) once you launch valorant and make the service start automatically when called.
the vanguard reinstall did nothing, but the clean boot worked
I was wondering which service was interfering with it
if you know
Unaware sorry, i was just explaining what it does
You better wait for icarus i guess
Yo, You’d have to enable each services 1 by 1 or at least by a few groups to identify which service is messing with the game
oh damn ok thanks
That’s the only way of knowing what’s truly causing the problem :val_Heh:
For instance ensble 5 services try the game, if there’s no prob, enable 5 more
yeah ik I was just wondering if there was another way cause that way is so tedious 😅
thanks for your help tho
hey guys, if yall run into anyone else with the same issue, this is the service that was causing the issue for me

Nice you figured it out !!
