Honda accord instrument cluster simulator
The beginnings of building a honda accord race simulator, it all begins with the cluster.

Sorted it out 🙂
Excuse the mess, current progress 🙂
@Chef Doobies Hello, can you tell me how you connected the game to the speedometer? And what did you use for this project? Sorry if the text is not very clear, I'm using a translator.
@MiChAeL the program used was simhub to connect the arduino to the instrument cluster 🙂
Please tell me, I'm currently studying SimHub. I have a question for you: is it possible to connect any dashboard from any car brand?
Technically possible yes 🙂 but 2008 and newer usa cars get more complicated than simple analogue signal, the gauge and clusters or at least a portion of it is controlled by canbus. You can power on the clusters but can't hardly control them without knowledge of canbus. For that you would have to reverse engineer the CANBUS messages
What I did personally:
Found a car from the junkyard that had the properties I desired. Such as simple analogue gauge cluster signal. This cluster is pre canbus
So, if I have a canbus dashboard, I won't be able to do this project, right?
You would have to reverse engineer the canbus messages, it's entirely possible it has been done, just is not as simple is all 🙂
I understand you, thank you very much!
Happy I can help 🙂
So I can use any dashboard, but not one with a car bus?(car bus is more complicated)
To start that is how I would do it, yes 🙂 that's how I've done it and taught myself everything I know
What kind of dashboard do you have, and what kind of car is it from?
It's from a 2002 honda accord coupe automatic v6 🙂
It doesn't have a car tire, does it?
What do you mean? I am sorry. Es tut mir leid
I mean, can it be used for this project?
Yes my project used a 2002 honda
If you have the opportunity to show the connection of the dashboard to the Arduino, please do so.
@Chef Doobies If possible
Sure thing lmao

Check engine light works for beamng 🙂
This is so sick!
Thank you it's been my pride and joy the last 2 weeks or so 😁
this is so cool wow
how did you hook it up to ets2?
@Chef Doobies Bro, you're awesome. Thanks a lot! I'll try it out later. Thanks for the idea!
Used program "simhub" it streamlines the arduino sketch for you 🙂
Your very welcome, essentially what you are doing should a similar instrument cluster project be done, your essentially reverse engineering it outside of the car. So it stays interesting anyways 🙂
Note: the original project picture is from a 2004/2005 instrument cluster. The one I am actually using is from a 2002 honda accord. Most things can be controlled besides the temp gauge which receives a signal via the pcm, I'm unsure exactly how to replicate the signal from that yet to drive the temp gauge but everything else works 🙂 1998 temp gauge in the honda accords anyways uses a simple resistor circuit versus pcm signal for the temp gauge, just like how the fuel gauge behaves

that is cool. giving me inspiration for similar projects
@Chef Doobies Hello, please tell me if this car has a CAN bus. And is it possible to do this project with this panel: BMW 5-Series 4th generation 1995 - 2004 E
No does not have canbus for 2002
Yes it's possible to do with BMW 5 series 4th gen
Thank you, I understand, I'll do it when I have time.
@Chef Doobies Please tell me if you have a wiring diagram for a 2001 BMW e39 dashboard from England.
I do not lol
I understand you
Is it a 525i? Or what is it specifically
Also what motor/engine?
Yes 525i
The engine is diesel
You're an addict or engineer?....well both doesn't look different to me lmao
Why not both, never thought of it that way lmao
@Chef Doobies I started doing a project and came across this question. Why am I driving at about 30 km/h in the game, but the dashboard shows about 60 km/h? Can you please tell me how to fix this?🙏
Recommend using the program "simhub" to calibrate this 🙂 that is what I use to drive the stepper motors with accuracy to both tachometer and speedometer gauges
SAVE YOUR ARDUINO SKETCH SOMEWHERE IF YOU DO THIS, IT WILL REWRITE YOUR ARDUINO SKETCH SHOULD YOU GO THAT ROUTE
I found a way to calibrate the tachometer, but where can I calibrate the speedometer?
Are you using "simhub"? Or just straight regular arduino ide?
I use simhub.
Ah okay one moment I can assist 🙂
If you scroll down from the tachometer/rpm gauge calibration there will be an option to calibrate "speedometer" 🙂
I found it, thanks! I'll try it.
Happy to help 🙂
I've calibrated the speedometer, thank you. I have another question. How do I connect the turn signals?
Custom serial
Ah connect sorry, they run with 12v
Need a relay
They make arduino relays and sell them on places such as Amazon or eBay. If you have a microcenter near you they may also have them 🙂
This is what I have used personally for the relays 🙂
Excuse the extreme disorganization

Got it, thanks!:arduinoheart:
