DNS error
I have a website up on cloudflare and I am using cloudflared tunnel from my server to connect the wordpress webserver to cloudflare. It worked fine until yesterday but I got an error yesterday when I tried opening the website. It said "This site can’t be reached, Check if there is a typo in website name [DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN]".
I contacted my domain provider but they told me to contact Cloudflare. Can anyone please help.
Thank you.

I'd be happy to help you troubleshoot the issue.
Based on the error message
DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN
, it seems that the DNS query for your website's domain is not resolving correctly. This error typically indicates that the domain does not exist or is not properly configured.
According to the Cloudflare documentation (https://developers.cloudflare.com/dns/troubleshooting/dns-probe-finished-nxdomain/), this error can occur if there is an issue with your DNS records in Cloudflare.
To resolve this issue, I recommend checking your DNS settings in the Cloudflare dashboard. Specifically, you should:
1. Check your expected apex domain (e.g., example.com
) and any active subdomains (e.g., www.example.com
or blog.example.com
). Make sure they are correctly configured and resolving to the correct IP address.
2. Verify that the DNS records are pointing to the correct origin IP address.
If you've made any recent changes to your DNS settings, it's possible that the changes have not propagated yet. You can try waiting a few minutes and then checking again.
Additionally, you can refer to the Cloudflare community troubleshooting guide (https://community.cloudflare.com/t/community-tip-fixing-the-dns-probe-finished-nxdomain-error/42818) for more detailed steps and potential solutions.
If you're still experiencing issues, please provide more details about your setup, such as your domain name and any recent changes you've made to your DNS settings. I'll do my best to help you troubleshoot the issue.Sources

What domain?
tcasikhi.com
There is a "
clientHold
" status on that domain.
"clientHold
" literally means that your domain is suspended.
You need to contact your registrar to get that sorted out.Yes I read your posts on cloudflare help docs on this similar issue and I messaged the domain provider. Let’s see what they say.
Thank you
Just got a reply, the staff said "you set Cloudflare nameservers but it seems that there are no A/AAAA-Records."
i just have a cname going back to the origin server

DNS over Discord: WHOIS
If you check the first "
Domain Status:
" in those, you'll see the "clientHold
" status on that domain.
From https://icann.org/epp#clientHold:
What does it mean?
This status code tells your domain's registry to not activate your domain in the DNS and as a consequence, it will not resolve. It is an uncommon status that is usually enacted during legal disputes, non-payment, or when your domain is subject to deletion.Should you do something?
Often, this status indicates an issue with your domain that needs resolution. If so, you should contact your registrar to resolve the issue. If your domain does not have any issues, but you need it to resolve, you must first contact your registrar and request that they remove this status code.
i saw that its on hold but this is what my registerer said after i told him about the clientHold

1. Ask your registrar to escalate the issue to someone with more seniority.
2. You can go more strong worded towards you registrar, and tell them if they don't remove the "
clientHold
" status, or otherwise will give you a good explanation for why they (you registrar) have suspended it, you see no other ways than to go further to ICANN with your complaint.

though....
11 + 15 = 26 ?
It sounds very plausible, that you may have entered a registrant email address, which they have tried to send a verifiation message to.
Since you never acted on this verifiation email (perhaps typo in email address(?)), they couldn't finish the verifiation.
As such, they may eventually have suspended your domain name, because of the lack of verification, of the registrant email address.
The suspension, with the "clientHold
" status is very typical for these...
But whatever happened, ...
Only your registrar can help you.
