Games unable to launch
Cliff notes:
New to linux
Fresh Bazzite install on all AMD system
Games crash on launch
I've attempted to get lutris to launch but it cannot even find the games.
So would I be better off just formating the drive and trying to re-download everything?
Is there a tweak I need to perform that I don't know?
I'm a long time windows user but I'd like to get up and running asap. Thanks

Ohh I forgot to mention these are all on a secondary game drive from the OS. Thanks
Exfat?
It should be
It should not be
Reformat it
its under fuse.... do it wont tell me which its under...
Use gnome disks to tell the format
Ok let me yank the handful of things I want from the drive first then fully reformat it. Is there anything I need to do to make it where I dont need to enter a password every time I want to access the drive
Auto-Mounting Secondary Drives - Bazzite Documentation
Bazzite is a custom image built upon Fedora Atomic Desktops that brings the best of Linux gaming to all of your devices.
Wait why does it say not to use ext4
"We only support BTRFS/ext4 filesystems"
???
You can use ext4 but bazzite reccomends btrfs
That I did not know thank you
They mean in the pictures
Ext4 is fine
Ok well it says it's gonna take 4hrs to reformat the drive so.....
Did you turn on erase
Yes
That's why
Don't do that
Ahhh
You do that when selling the drive
btrfs is generally better in a container focused os, which bazzite is
ext4 is fine, more tried and tested by virtue of being older
honestly just use btrfs
Thats the plan I'm gonna try to see if I can get some smaller games to function before moving on though
No games will function on Steam with exfat on proton
btrfs has a usable driver for windows if you need to access it in dual booted windows
to access ext4 you kinda need to mess around with Linux subsystem for windows, mounting it manually and it won't quite work
There's an ext4 driver too
ext2fsd
there is? i only see the btrfs driver on bazzite docs
Idk I just bailed from windows this morning and I'm working on just trying to make the switch. I've already solved my audio issues but this one was beyond me
Yeah, its a common issue but its how steam on linux works, you have to reformat
yeah
proton/wine uses symlinks which kinda doesn't exist in fat32, exfat, and ntfs
They exist in ntfs, that has other problems
Ok I think I got it form here
Thank ya'll for the assistance
