Bazzite FPS drops, after Freeze and Hard Reset
Hello,
I don't know how to reset it anymore. I wanted to enjoy bazzite, I like the system and it could replace windows for me.
However, I have a problem for example with KCD 2. During playing about 15-30 minutes, a tiny fps to 1 fps and then freezes. I have to do a hard reset.
I tried reading what I could, testing tdp, playing with temperature, game settings, etc.
Nothing helped. I'm sorry I'm typing. But I don't have access to any pc at the moment...
Can you please tag me with a solution?

I'm having this problem on my Ally X. I'm playing NFS Heat and the fps drops hard then freezes. My other games seems to be ok, but it did happen in another game. Fresh Bazzite install from windows.
I haven't tried it, but I read somewhere to allocate more vram in the bios. Have you tried that?

I had 41 build about a month ago amd all my games ran great, except in dock mode, so I switched to Windows. I heard they fixed the dock issue I was having so I went back to this latest build.
Unfortunately, I'm also running on windows, games on bazzite seem better to me for once. I don't mean fps but stability. Mostly I like the environment and that it works. Windows isn't bad but hell, it's well run. I've tried SteamOS as well, but I haven't found a good plug-in for the fan curve.

I rolled back a few times and it seems 42.2015715 has the game working, but with docked audio cut outs. 42.2015715.1 fixes audio, but crashes game. Perhaps you can try rolling back to that one or earlyier to see if it works better for you.
So far I've booted back into windows. Anyway, I've been poking around and trying. Helped me a lot GE PROTON 10-2, then set the ZRAM from 4 gb to 8. And it was playable.
Can you explain the GE Proton 10-2? Is that some sort of update for Bazzite you have been poking around with?
download it with ProtonPlus or ProtonUp-Qt
restart steam, and select it as your game's compatibility tool
And yes, allocate more vram would probably help
Good to know, thanks for the idea. Unfortunately my game is still unplayable. I tried 10-2 and some newer ones. 🤷♂️
