Abuse Report

Hey there, Under what conditions would the cloudflare abuse form not recognize a domain being hosted cloudflare? We're trying to submit a domain for abuse but get this error: A URL contains a domain that is not active on Cloudflare However, we're clearly seeing from the dig requests it is pointing to cloudflare.

but they are using it for DNS :3 want to knock the website offline for serving contraband otherwise filing a CSAM is going to be very very VERY fun

anybody can point their dns records to cloudflare. that doesn't mean we actually serve anything on that name if it's dns-only then select "registrar" as the abuse type

abuse handling is limited for dns-only zones though. https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/content-2013-05-03-en is generally good advice

everything I'm seeing seems to indicate cloudflare is serving DNS?

dns != proxying assufields suggestion is probably your best bet

Agreed that DNS != proxying. But the goal here is to knock the entire website offline via DNS. No DNS == No routable domain and le sigh w/ godaddy they're probably the least responsive registrars i've worked with. at least US based

yeah this is a bit of a reach for cloudflare abuse to engage with. I'm not saying they won't, but be ready for disappointment. you really need the registrar, the host, or law enforcement here
