Latest 42 causing some games to crash
I'm on the latest 7/15 build on the Ally X.
I had Bazzite in the past, but had major docked audio cut out issues that have since been resolved. I went to Windows then did a fresh install of Bazzite 42.20250720.
Now some of my games (mainly NFS Heat) constantly crashes. First the FPS goes to singles digits then freezes and I have to do a hard reboot. The game uses the EA app so maybe there is something g there? It also froze once on FF7 Remake.

Other link is expired. I updated some things from Bazzar and from the desktop. Still freezes on NFS.
Also tried reinstalling the game. Played for about 10 minutes until freezing
I rolled back a few times and it seems 42.2015715 has the game working, but with docked audio cut outs. 42.2015715.1 fixes audio, but crashes game.
Tried updated to the latest stable 731. Still freezes. There was even a update to the game. eerrrg. Unfortunately, Im going to have to jump back to windows if I can't get any help. 😢

You can try allocating more vram, but beyond that I'm not sure
also what is the image that you are on?
I have 16 GB allocated. currently on the newest 42.20250731. I also tried different Proton versions in the game settings. I was on a 41 build awhile ago and it worked fine (beside the audio docked cut outs)
Proton cachyos 10 seemed to fixed the issue. Played several hours. restarted game a few times. Been a couple days now so far so good.
