Cleaning Magnetic USB Contacts
Hey there! I’m looking to clean what looks like some mild corrosion or oxidation (can’t tell which) on the magnetic side of a magnetic USB Micro B tip, the type shown in the image below. What do you recommend for cleaning the metal rings? Would isopropyl alcohol be a safe cleaning agent?
Thank you for any help!

Good to know! Thank you! What does isopropyl alcohol help clean off?
So isopropyl alcohol is good at cleaning up dirt, dust and debris from electronics? Makes sense!
I know there is a wd-40 for circuit that can remove corrosion
I think just a normal WD-40 can do it
Since no pcb and chips on the magnetic side
Thanks for the suggestions! How does WD-40 clean electronics? Does it remove corrosion as well, or just clean dirt and debris?
Thanks for the feedback!
Use 99% isopropyl alcohol to avoid braking it
LOL YES FR>
I used it and it worked pretty well
I would buy it if I need to clean electrical stuff in the future 🙂
