Wifi connection stuck only on 2.4Ghz
Hello
Thank you for your help
I have a MSI B50M plus WiFi motherboard and I noticed that it only ever connects to the 2.4 network and not the 5GHz one
Also the speeds are always capped at 450Mbits
I have checks my router configurations but there are no limits placed on the connection.
Also the router is in the same room so it is not a signal issue.
Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this?
Thank and very much appreciated for your help!

tbh easiest way is to get an ethernet cable
if the router is in the same room
well not feasible it is in the same roomm but not next to each other
would still need about 5 meters running across the room
what is your motherboard?
the wifi card more specifically

just to make sure, your 2.4 and 5ghz are on different SSIDs, right?
i.e. have different name
no
eh that's related to your router settings then
the wifi card should be supported in the kernel version in bazzite
okay i will have a look at the router settings
imo you could probably just use 5ghz if you don't need the range of 2.4(which isn't better by a lot, due to other 2.4 interference)
if you need the range then you may want to just use separate SSIDs
imo the whole 2.4 and 5 on the same ssid is kinda just, not that good in practice from my experience
okay i see
i will have a look then at the router settings
so the card is supported
thats basically what i wanted to know
thank you so much for your help!
