Slow "Downloading VS Code Server" when starting Coder VS Code Desktop for the first time

Hey everyone! We are using Coder mainly with the desktop option and when an user creates a workspace and open it for the first time in the VS Code Desktop, it starts downloading vs code server, which as far as I understood is for the remote ssh extension. However this download takes an average of 3-5 min to complete and the workspace opens. I'm not sure if I got it right, but we already have this extension installed by default, is there a way to skip this step? After this first usage, subsequent starts of vs code desktop for the same workspace goes faster.

What are you creating this issue for?

This is needed by the VSCode desktop itself. Ideally it should be instant given the workspaces have good internet But to save time you can probably try ore downloading it in the workspace image

Hey @Phorcys sorry for the late response, got allocated in other tasks so didnt try it yet. I will see if I manage to test it today, but I think you can close this thread, does not look like something from Coder side. If adding to the image works I will leave a thumbs up here in this comment for others. I tried adding to the image but does not seem to have improved it. It went fast in a couple of tries but not in a constant way. Also, when opening the extensions tab in VS Code, the "Remote - SSH" extension appears in both "Local - Installed" and in "Coder: MyUser/Workspace", but in the Coder one its greyed out. When hovering over the info icon it says "This extensions is enabled in the Local Extension Host because it prefers to run there". It looks like some setting or configuration I should do in VS Code side.
